Biography
Jason A. Ramsey, MD, is fellowship-trained in Sports Medicine specializing in shoulder replacements, instability tendon repair, ligament reconstruction, meniscus repair, and cartilage restoration. A Lubbock native, Dr. Ramsey began his journey at The Center for Orthopedic Surgery and spent the first eight years of his career establishing himself as a go-to source for sports medicine and shoulder care.
In 2020, Dr. Ramsey established SportsZone Orthopedics to offer top-line, efficient, and affordable care in Physical Therapy and MRI imaging. After over a decade of practicing in Lubbock and having replaced more than 1000 shoulders, Dr. Ramsey has become a valuable provider for people in West Texas and Eastern New Mexico. In 2025, Dr. Ramsey returned to the Center for Orthopedics Surgery. This move combined the experience of the Center with the full-service in-house care of Sports Zone Orthopedics. Together, we are committed to making it the “Go-To” location for the injured athlete.
Dr. Ramsey’s experience in sports medicine and shoulder surgery led to his induction into both the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) in 2023. Membership in these organizations comes from peer recommendations and recognizes orthopedic surgeons who have demonstrated expertise and a commitment to advancing patient care within their specialty. As the first ASES member in West Texas, Dr. Ramsey is pleased to bring that level of specialized experience to patients throughout the Lubbock area.
AOSSM recognizes the critical role of the team physician in caring for athletes at every level of competition. Throughout his career, Dr. Ramsey has treated athletes ranging from weekend warriors and youth competitors to high school, collegiate, and professional athletes. His experience includes serving as a part of the physician team for the Cincinnati Bengals and the University of Arkansas Razorbacks. Closer to home, he has been the team physician for Wayland Baptist University, the Lubbock Matadors, the Levelland Lobos, and cared for numerous other athletes from West Texas schools and athletic programs. Whether you’re a competitive athlete or simply want to return to the activities you love, Dr. Ramsey provides expert orthopedic care focused on helping you recover safely, perform confidently, and get back in the game.
